Mojo's Raptor Monitor Training

Boulder County Parks and Rec's Raptor Monitor training was very informative and we were fortunate to have several sightings while getting an overview of the area. We saw a golden eagle, 4 ospreys, 4 northern harriers, a great horned owl, a Swainson's hawk, a couple of red tailed hawks and praire falcons, plus several kestrels. The highlights were watching a male harrier bring a mouse back to his mate and then watching one of the harriers get territiorial with a red tailed hawk.

My picture

My picture is of " Jerry " named after my father, this raptor was at the Juneau Raptor Center when he was named for my father. Because of the wing injury he could not be released back to the wild, and was moved to the Raptor Rehab center in Jackson Tennessee to become part of their active breeding group when he becomes old enough.
